Somewhere out there a baby’s taking his first breath 
The world says welcome to the day
Down the hall a family gathers round a bed
A goodbye no one wants to say 

Sun goes up, sun goes down 
Big blue ball keeps spinning round and round and 

Life goes on 
People change like seasons do 
Trade the old out for the new 
Til the sand is gone
Everybody’s hourglass
Winds up somewhere in the past 
But memories never die 
That’s the way your life goes on

Not gonna hold onto the dark and bitterness 
Won‘t take it with me when I go
I’d rather leave my bright light shining for the next in line 
To walk this winding road cause 

Life goes on 
People change like seasons do 
Trade the old out for the new 
Til the sand is gone
Everybody’s hourglass
Winds up somewhere in the past 
But memories never die

We don’t forget 
Those we knew best 
Love stands the test of time
